Manager, China Digital & E-commerce Sales
Reports to: Director of Sales, China Department: Sales Location: SHA HOW YOU'LL HELP US KEEP CLIMBING (OVERVIEW & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES) Delta's China Sales organization is seeking a highly motivated individual and established leader for the role of Manager - China Digital & E-commerce Sales. This position will have overall responsibilities for growing revenue and market share on Online Travel Agencies, online flagship store, and delta.com. This manager position will also manage B2B communications with brand partners, marketing units, tourism boards, and other industry partners. Based in Shanghai, this position will report to Director of Sales, China. Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks): Formulate, execute, and track sales strategies for OTAs, online flagship stores, and delta.com – leveraging social media, mobile platform, localization.
Increase digital channel revenue, channel share, and customer satisfaction for delta.com and mobile channels. Manage and strengthen relationships with external stakeholders that include but not limited to OTAs, brand partners, tourism boards, and airline partner China Eastern. Manage and strengthen relationships with internal stakeholders such as Revenue Management, Sales Development, Global Distribution unit and other departments involved in key digital sales initiatives and projects. Partner with Marketing and Corporate Communication to proactively build Delta brand and supporting objective to become the Most Chinese-Friendly U.S. Carrier. Develop interpersonal skills and business maturity of team members, while reinforcing Delta’s best practices and employee-focused corporate culture.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS) Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in airline, digital sales, online travel agencies, or related e-commerce fields required.
Fluency in English and Mandarin is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to speak confidently before large groups and effectively conduct meetings. Excellent relationship management and communication skills, with both internal and external stakeholders. Excellent understanding of the travel industry, market conditions, competitive threats and opportunities, and strong familiarity with online distribution and e-commerce trends – to successfully guide formulation and execution of sales plans targeting online customers. Good leadership and interpersonal skills with a strong track record of working cross-functionally. Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment, be highly motivated, flexible, and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision. Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles. WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS) 3+ years of leadership experience in airline, commercial, sales and marketing fields is preferred. Knowledge of airline distribution concepts, including GDS and online distribution policies and strategies. Preferred knowledge of Delta Air Lines and/or the airline industry, travel landscape, and consumer behavior. Must be strategic, dynamic, detail-oriented, and impactful. The ideal candidate is an analytical thinker, a self-starter, and a solution provider. Bachelor's degree, MBA or master’s degree preferred.
