Europe | EU and UK launch ETA and ETIAS for non-visa travellers
The United Kingdom will be introducing a new Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) which will require all non-visa travellers to seek ‘permission to travel’ prior to travelling to the UK.
From October 2023, the ETA will go live to Qatari nationals, and from February 2024, it will be expanded further to other Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Jordan. The scheme will go fully live to all non-visa global travellers by the end of 2024. The EU’s equivalent, the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS), will also go live from 2024 in all Schengen countries. With only a few months to go before this major change and transformation to travelling to the UK and across the EU, and the myriad of information and technical immigration rules employers and individuals need to understand, Vialto Partners has produced helpful FAQ guides to get you and your employees ready for the go live date. For more information, please review our FAQs on both ETA and ETIAS. If you have any questions, please contact: Sheree Cang
