Hilton to maintain robust development in South China

THE world’s leading hospitality company Hilton has opened a new complex property at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an District since December last year, marking an important step taken by Hilton to maintain robust development in the South China region, according to Joseph Zitnik, Area General Manager of the Greater Shenzhen Area.

The complex includes Hilton Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center and Hilton Garden Inn Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center.


“Shenzhen has always been a key business development region for Hilton due to its excellent location, convenient transportation, vibrant economy, and incredible reach both at home and abroad,” stated Zitnik.


To tap deeper into the local market of the South China region, Hilton relocated its South China headquarters to Shenzhen last October. “The relocation means that Hilton will reinforce our strategic presence in South China and drive further expansion in the region [to] steadily advance towards its goal of 1,000 operating hotels in China by 2025,” he said.


Among the 17 hotels under four Hilton brands operating in Shenzhen, the new Hilton hotel is the only one directly connected to the new exhibition center. “The hotel caters to those looking to hold world-class meetings and events in the city,” said Zitnik.


The hotel has a total of 325 digital key-enabled guestrooms and suites with harbor or city views, and well-equipped meeting, socializing, catering and entertaining facilities.

To protect its guests and staff’s safety and wellbeing, the hotel follows Hilton’s industry-defining standards of cleanliness and disinfection — the CleanStay program, which were launched last year and are applicable to all its properties across the world.


“The ‘Hilton CleanStay’ and ‘Hilton EventReady With CleanStay’ standards can provide our guests with assurance and peace of mind during their stay in our properties and can help us build loyalty among our guests at the time when hygiene counts more than ever,” said Zitnik.

Last September Hilton also initiated in China a global marketing campaign named “To New Memories,” which appeared on platforms including TV, online video and social advertisement, aiming to inspire consumers to plan their next trip. The new hotel also joined the campaign.


Having been working in China for 15 years, Zitnik came to Shenzhen a year ago for the opening of the two hotels — the new Hilton and the Hilton Garden Inn Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. “It has always been amazing to me to see the tremendous growth in Shenzhen over the year,” he said.
